Day 7
Jesus Is Alive
“But our God is in Heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak;
eyes they have, but they do not see;
they have ears, but they do not hear;
noses they have, but they do not smell;
they have hands, but they do not handle;
feet they have, but they do not walk,
nor do they mutter through their throat.
All other gods that have come and gone in this world have gravesites where their bones lie. Some of these gods were statues made with human hands and have been destroyed or will be destroyed by men. Our God is alive forevermore. The people in the time of Jesus killed Him on the cross as He was fully God and fully man, and they thought that they killed Him on the cross forever, but they did not know that Jesus would rise from the grave and conqueror death.
Our God did not stay in the grave; He is alive today and forever. Jesus is in Heaven, seated on a throne on the right hand of God the Father. Jesus is actively making intercession over your life. Knowing that we have a God Who is alive gives us confidence in our lives that He hears us and is working in our lives and in the world around us.
Even in the Old Testament, you notice Daniel turning to God, and God stopping lions from eating him in the lion's pit (Daniel 6). You have God opening up the Red Sea so the children of Israel could cross but the people of Egypt drowned (Exodus 14:21-31).
Then in the New Testament, you have the disciples experiencing Jesus as the living God as they saw miracles, signs, and wonders in their hands (Acts 19:11-12). This was even to the point of the church praying for Peter to escape from prison, and God heard their prayers for Peter so that he walked out of prison miraculously (Acts 12:5-19). This is the same God Whom we serve today! He is living and active in your life.
Prayer:
“Jesus, You are alive. Thank You for listening to me when I talk to You. Thank You for seeing me and working in my life. I want to experience You as the living God in my life and world. Amen.”
