Day 10

Go and Multiply

____________

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.’ So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into Heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” Mark 16:15-20

“How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’” Romans 10:14-15

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2

One of the last things that Jesus told His followers before He ascended to Heaven was to go into all the world to preach and make disciples. This is how these 10 days are going to wrap up. You are called to go into the world and to share the way God has changed your life.

You can share your testimony, meaning you were once in a life of sin, you encountered Jesus, and you are now free in Jesus. You can share that however you want, but people can’t deny your story of what God has done in your life. There are family members, friends, and co-workers who need to hear of the mighty work that Jesus has done in your life.

Not only can you share your story, but you can share the Gospel. The Gospel means good news—the good news that Jesus sets free from sin, and you don’t have to save yourself. This is that which you received upon being born again.

You can ask people, “Are you born again?” From there, you can share the truth that they need to know God desires a relationship with them, but something is hindering that relationship, and that is the sin that they choose to live in, and they need a way out of that sin. You can tell them, “The only way out of your sin is Jesus. Jesus' death and resurrection is the only way out of a life of sin.”

You then tell people how to receive His grace, because being born again is not something that they can earn. It’s a gift. You can tell them that they can place their faith in Jesus. They simply need to be convinced of this truth: that He is the only way.

Once they have placed their faith in Jesus and they are convinced in their heart, they can confess Jesus as their Lord. You can go share this with someone today, and their lives will be forever changed. After you lead people to Christ, you can then baptize them. You just need to find some water. A tub, river, pool—wherever is a good place to baptize them in the water. You don’t have to have a license from a church. You are commissioned by God.

As you go, there will be people who need healing in their bodies or even freedom from demonic powers. Because you have the Holy Spirit in you, you have the power to heal the sick and cast out demons. As you notice sick people, pray for them to be healed, and have them check it out whether they are healed. Those who are demonically oppressed? Simply have them break agreement with the demonic spirit. They will be set free, and God will use them in the days ahead.

Lastly, as Christ is being formed in you, you, too, can spend time with others whom you lead to Christ. This could be a family member, friend, coworker, or random stranger, and you will have the opportunity to walk them through this devotional and the Word of God. I encourage you to meet with them one-on-one or in a group, and over time, you will notice them looking more like Jesus, too. You can disciple others in the days ahead.

Who is someone you need to ask, “Are you born again?” Who is someone for whom you need to pray for healing? There are people in your life whom God is going to use you to reach.

I am excited for all God is going to do in you and through you in the days ahead!

Prayer:

“God, give me divine appointments to share the Gospel. Use me to heal the sick and cast out demons. Help me to be a disciple of Christ so I can disciple others. Amen.”
